Meeting Gosberton Public Hall, 30th October 2023 at 7.00pm
 
The purpose of the meeting is to identify what if any policies exist regarding the annual appraisal of staff and the procedures for appraisal and salary increase in line with both national guidelines and performance so they can be incorporated in December’s PC meeting.
 
Minutes
 
1. To discuss and agree the annual processe(s) of employee appraisal and timescales:
 
i. Staffing Committee Terms of Reference
 
Attached and agreed by staffing committee to be sent to Clerk for incorporation by committee. Dec 2023
 
ii. Staff appraisal policy and forms
 
Provided for comment by 20th November. To be sent to Clerk for incorporation by committee. Dec 2023
 
2. To discuss Clerk’s current grading and salary wrt:
 
i. Current grading against NALC scales etc.
 
After discussion staffing committee felt it appropriate to increase Clerks salary from 13.20 to 14.21 in line with SLCC / NALC guidelines from April 2023. An increase in scale point from 18 to 19 will be given next April (2024) in acknowledgement of the training completed.
 
The Clerk is also to be contacted with regards to their working hours as it is felt that the current 12 hours may not adequately cover the time needed to fulfil duties.
 
3. Date of next meeting(s):
 
In line with the Terms of Reference it is agreed that there will be two formal meetings per annum. One in April post appraisals and to coincide with the potential appointment of a new chair. One in December prior to the precept being set so future salary salary increments can be considered. Actual dates will be agreed with Clerk and posted along with a standard agenda.
