Chair report 2025/26
Chairs report on Parish council activities for the Year 2025/26
We began the year with a new Contractor who has taken on the role of maintenance of Parish council property in the villages. The Cemetery and playing fields are looking neat and tidy, with the dykes being cleared and bushes cut back. The Bench at the bottom of Churchfleet lane has been restored and a new bench has been purchased for the area near the Cremation plots in the Cemetery.
Road safety is an ongoing issue. The Council has purchased an additional SID which has been installed along the Boston Road. The Community Speedwatch team have been out doing speed surveys in the area, thanks to Cllr Ascough for co-ordinating this and to Speedwatch volunteers for giving up their time. New waiting restrictions are now in operation along the Clough Road/Chopdyke Drove and the proposed restrictions outside the school in Gosberton are in the consultation period. There has also been a new 30mph speed limit implemented along the Risegate/Clough Road.
A grant was made to Gosberton Clough school to fund the replacement of the defibrillator which is located near the school.
Over the year there has been ongoing discussions regarding the purchase of suitable land to extend the Cemetery, this will continue with the possibility of using Council allotment land for this purpose.
There has been on going issues of thefts from the Garden allotments in Windmill lane, this has been reported to the Police and tenants advised to increase security of their allotment sheds and equipment.
Finally, I would like to thank all my fellow Councillors who give their time and services for free. They put in a lot of effort which often goes unnoticed by parishioners. And also thank you to Fran our clerk.
